We offer an expert mathematics consulting/contracting service, specialising in the application of fluid dynamics to real-world problems, especially ship hydrodynamics. We have developed software packages that determine the flow about ships and submarines, and evaluate the wave profile, drag on the vessel and other physical characteristics of interest.
SWPE (Ship Wave Pattern Evaluation) is a program that calculates the waves produced by and forces acting upon ships and submarines, as determined by thin-ship theory.
SWPE-PD (Ship Wave Pattern Evaluation --- Pressure Distributions) calculates the waves produced by and forces acting upon sea-surface pressure distributions, as are produced by hovercraft.
SWPE-FS (Ship Wave Pattern Evaluation --- Flat Ships) calculates the waves produced by and forces acting upon high-speed (planing) craft such as speed boats, as determined by flat-ship theory.
NFSFS (Nonlinear Free-Surface Flow Solver) calculates the waves produced by and forces acting upon submerged bodies, as determined using the fully-nonlinear free-surface boundary conditions.
In addition, we have active interests in ship detection and identification, flows produced by hybrid craft such as surface effect ships, and cavitation flows.
